Three to ten everyday photos of each person, face clearly visible, no sunglasses. Different days and different light help. For pets, a few from the side and the front. If a photo will not work, we tell you why before anything is drawn.

They are used for your book and nothing else. We delete them 30 days after you approve your cast, or the day you ask. We never use them to train AI, and we never make face scans from them. We keep the drawn characters so a reprint is easy, and you can ask us to delete those too.

You, and the people making your book. Photos sit in private storage and are shown only through links that expire. They are never shown on this site. Every family you see here is made up.

No. You need to be the parent or legal guardian of every child in the book, and to have permission from every adult. You confirm that before you upload, and we check.

That is the whole point, so you decide. You see each character before a single page is painted, and you approve them one by one. If someone is not right, we draw them again.

Yes, and we draw them the way they really are: the color of the hearing aids, the shape of the chair. Tell us about them when you add each person, even if the photos do not show them.

Up to 6 people and pets. Kids, parents, grandparents, the dog, the cat. If your household is bigger, write to us and we will make it work.

Yes. You see the whole book before it prints. 3 page redos are included, and one redo for each character. After that, extra redos cost a few dollars each, because each one is painted again.

Ages 3 to 8. They are ordinary hardcover picture books, 8.5 x 8.5 inch, 32 pages, not board books.

A few days to make and approve, then 3 to 5 business days to print, plus shipping. We only show an order-by date for the holidays once our printer has proven it. If we are going to miss a date we promised, you choose: wait, or a full refund.

Ground shipping in the US is $6.99 per book. The digital edition has no shipping.

Every book is made to order for one family, so it works in stages. Before you approve your cast, you can cancel for a full refund. After that, if a likeness is not right, we redraw it in another style or give store credit. After you approve the proof, we replace any book that arrives damaged or misprinted. The digital edition is final once downloaded.

Yes. An extra copy of the same book is $29 plus shipping, sent to any address, with a gift note if you like.

No. They are picture books, not treatment. They are a way to start a conversation, with your child as the one who is brave. If your family is working with a therapist or a child life specialist, they are welcome to read the story before we paint it.

We do not write stories that blame or mock a parent or anyone else, make medical claims, include real people outside your family, or include children who are not yours. If a request crosses one of those lines, we will tell you and suggest another way to tell it.

The pictures are, and we would rather tell you than have you wonder. An image model paints your family from your photos, in the style you choose. Then people take over: you approve every character and every page, and a person checks the whole book before it prints. The stories are drafted with AI help and edited line by line by a person. The one thing we never do is keep or learn from your photos.
